Born and raised in Dallas, TX, he moved to California to attend the University of California Berkeley where he was first exposed to Bollywood style of dance. Rhythm was always in his life as he began playing drums at the age of 10. Since moving to California, he has been exposed to a variety of styles like raas, bhangra, bollywood, and even hip hop. As a dancer on Berkeley’s Bollywood team Azaad, Riaz was also heavily involved with the team’s production value and hopes to bring that creativity to Ishaara. He is currently working in the Bay Area as a civil engineering consultant, and hopes to return to Berkeley for a Master’s in civil engineering.
