Priya began her lifelong love affair with dance when she was a young girl. Initially, she was trained in the American dance styles of jazz, tap, and hip hop.  As a member of San Francisco’s Project Pulse, Priya performed a hip hop number alongside her favorite circus troupe, Cirque du Soleil. Despite her love for American dance, Priya most enjoys learning different styles of Indian dance, as it allows her to explore her culture and fuse her diverse skills to form her own unique dance identity.  Upon entering college, Priya joined the UC Irvine’s Hindi film dance team Sitaare, for which she was the lead female dancer during their winning year and choreographer.  She then went on to dance professionally with Bollywood Step Dance, where she performed alongside Boman Irani, Regis Philbin, and Tony Bennett.  She has also danced professionally with Tattva, where she was the lead female dancer for a large production at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and has had years of extensive training in Kathak (a classical Indian dance form) with Pandit Chitresh Das in both India and the Bay Area. Priya has also taught Bollywood dance classes to young children, which she truly enjoys, as it allows her to share her knowledge, enthusiasm, and passion for dance with California’s next generation of Bollywood stars.
