Meghana is currently a first-year medical student at Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL. She did her undergraduate studies at UCLA, where she was a member and captain of UCLA’s award-winning Bollywood dance team, Nashaa. She has had formal training in Kathak, a North Indian Classical dance for nine years under Pandit Chitresh Das. Her passion for dancing began at an early age. Growing up, Meghana loved watching the dance numbers in Bollywood movies, and drew inspiration from its exciting and upbeat choreography. Her love for Bollywood dance intensified in high school, where she combined her classical training and creativity and choreographed Bollywood dance routines for local competitions in the San Francisco Bay Area, winning multiple awards. As a member of UCLA’s Bollywood dance team for four years and captain for one, she has helped the team extensively with choreography as well as with costume design. Meghana is excited that Ishaara has allowed her to keep up her passion for dancing while pursuing her career goals of becoming of physician, and is thrilled to be part of the Ishaara family.
